Auto Glass Installer Technician Apprenticeship

 

Program Outline

  • Length of program: --------- 3 years
  • Workplace hours: ---------- 5280
  • Technical college hours: ---- 66

The technical training component of this apprenticeship is held at Vancouver Community College.  In this facility, skills are taught in the classrooms, and labs.
The apprenticeship is broken down into Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3 . Training time at the college is as follows:

  • First year for a 1 week period. (Level 1)
  • Second year for a 1 week period. (Level 2 - 4 days) (Level 3 - 1 day)

A major portion of class room time is devoted to theory which is presented by means of lectures, demonstrations, and the occasional guest speaker.

Required Pre-reading:
Auto Glass Technician Training Manual (National Glass Association)

Tools and coveralls supplied by the college for temporary use by the student.

Students must supply their own safety equipment.
